Something J'ouvert 2013
Ever since I moved to Miami and been experiencing carnival here I always wondered why the J'ouvert aspect of it was missing. I thought J'ouvert was a prime part of any carnival and was the easiest thing to have. Miami Broward One Carnival started it last year and I heard rave reviews.
Bands have started launching and getting ready for the 2nd round of this event. And here is "Something J'ouvert" and I heard they are the Wassiest ones on the route (Pun intended)

I'm Excited. Are you? Kes at Colors of the Caribbean
Colors of the Caribbean is this weekend...with KesTheBand...not just Kees on tracks...the WHOLE band is performing live. And its free!!...and its in the park..and they're tons of other performers and Dj Maji and Seamless and Barry Hype ..and steel pan and Kids Zones and Moko Jumbies...
But also...there is Kes the Band :). Outside of what some consider my unhealthy love of the Boy...My next closest soca obsession is Kes The Band. Started since he was with Imij and Co.with Push - ..p.s ..in my head this song was called "push back take a wine on somebody"..[ahm why I cant find this song anywhere in the internets???] but their music is my favorite brand of Soca.
I love a lavway..and i love minor keys...and guitar chords and riffs...and bridges and sweet wine.... They've really evolved into an awesome representation for Soca...just like Boy...[yes I'm the resident groupie].
Anyways... I cant wait to hold my head and sing along to EVERYTRACK!! Kes...See you Saturday!!

Band Launch Review: Euphoria Mas - Genesis
I arrived at Euphoria’s band launch at about 1am. We were running late [as usual] because the address on FB for the venue was completely different from the actual venue.
As we walked in [Thank you Cassy for putting us on the Guest List] I noticed that the regular set up of the Warehouse had been transformed. Decor from SunStar had turned the open warehouse set up into a white tented entry way...with multiple tents hosting food and the bar making a “liming” area in front of the warehouse itself. It was a great change and set the tone for the rest of the night.
After saying the hellos and hitting the bar for drinks we walked inside where we saw that a stage had been erected inside for the portrayal of the costumes, with decor again By SunStar designs. It was a welcome change and effectively built the hype for the event that was to come.
At about 1:30 am after a performance by [Father lord forgive me I cant remember his name] the costumes came out.
