It has been a great year for the Alvarez couple.
Not only did Mr. Ian Alvarez, aka Bunji Garlin, walk away with the title of International Soca Monarch 2008 on Carnival Friday but it was announced toady that his wife, Faye-Ann Lyons- Alvarez, had taken the Road March title in a huge way with the song 'Get On'.
In making the announcement, TUCO president , MIcheal Leggerton, revealed that the song had been played some 331 times which was almost double that of her nearest contender.
This is not the first time that Lyons-Alvarez has won this title. Her first win was back in 2003 with the song 'Display'.
It was also announced that once again Brian McFarlane had copped the Band of the Year title with his presentation 'Earth: Cries of Despair, Wings of Hope'.
Last year, the race for the Road March title was so close that it took more than a day to get official results.
